Decodo vs FourA: 1,000 requests on the same $99 plan

On Decodo's $99 plan 1,000 requests cost $0.14 to $1.20; on FourA's $99 Startup plan, $0.055 to $0.55. Both pricing pages read 28 September 2026.

Decodo vs FourA: what does the same $99 buy?

Decodo's Web Scraping API and FourA both sell a $99 plan, and on the same four kinds of request Decodo charges 2.2 to 7.7 times what FourA does per 1,000. Decodo's pricing page lists $0.14 to $1.20 per 1,000 on its $99 plan, while FourA's $99 Startup plan runs them for $0.055 to $0.55. We read both pages on 28 September 2026; prices are in US dollars.

What does FourA charge per request?

FourA prices a request in credits by the engine that ran it, never by the site. Single is 1 credit, or 2 with a browser profile (the unblocker parameter, on by default), which is what you'd send to pages that check who's asking. Browser is 5 credits, or 10 when a page asked for a verification step and Browser completed it. Every response carries an X-FourA-Credits header with what that call spent.

Startup is $99 a month for 1,800,000 credits on foura.ai/prices, as of 28 September 2026. And only a success is billed: a request that failed on the target's side, on yours or on ours costs no credits.

What does Decodo's Web Scraping API charge?

Two switches set the price, its API introduction says: the proxy pool (Standard or Premium) and JavaScript rendering, on or off. The pricing page describes Standard as "for low-security sites and simple access" and Premium as "for accessing guarded or sensitive pages". Like FourA, Decodo says you're only charged for successful responses.

One line in that introduction moves the bill. Every target template except the universal Web one uses Premium proxies by default, so a Google or Amazon template starts at $0.85 per 1,000 on the $99 plan, not $0.14.

Here's the $99 plan on each side:

Per 1,000 FourA Decodo
HTTP, plain $0.055 $0.14
HTTP, protected $0.11 $0.85
Rendered $0.275 $0.60
Rendered, protected $0.55 $1.20

Why FourA comes out ahead here

The widest gap is the protected HTTP request: $0.11 per 1,000 on FourA against $0.85 on Decodo, 7.7 times apart. The narrowest is rendering, and even there Decodo's $0.60 is 2.2 times FourA's $0.275.

Move up to $249 and the gap grows. Decodo's first Enterprise plan lists $0.12, $0.80, $0.55 and $1.15 for the four rows above. FourA's $249 Business plan carries 9,000,000 credits, so the same rows cost $0.028, $0.055, $0.14 and $0.28. Decodo's $1,499 plan, at $0.09, $0.65, $0.40 and $1.00, is still above FourA's $249 on every row.

Decodo deserves credit for a price sheet you can read at a glance: four request types, one price each per plan, 193 countries on the Premium pool, and a 14-day money-back option.

Run the same request on FourA

Pull last month's Decodo usage and split it four ways. Price Standard at 1 credit and Premium at 2 (Single without and with a browser profile), Standard with JavaScript at 5 and Premium with JavaScript at 10 (Browser, counting every page as one that asked for a verification step). Count template requests as Premium unless you changed their pool, then set the total against the plans on the pricing page. Decodo sells its residential proxies by the gigabyte instead; our per GB vs per page breakdown covers that unit.

Frequently asked

Does a Google or Amazon page cost more on FourA? No. The credit cost depends on the engine and on whether Browser completed a verification step, not on the domain, so a new target costs what the last one did.

How many Browser requests a day does a plan allow? Startup allows 5,000 a day and Business 20,000, as of 28 September 2026. Single has no daily count; it runs on credits, a per-minute rate and a concurrency limit.

Is a failed request free on both? Decodo says it charges only for successful responses, and FourA bills no credits for a failure. On FourA your own validate rules decide what counts as a success.
