Zyte vs FourA: what 1,000 requests cost, tier by tier

Zyte vs FourA: 1,000 requests to a tier 5 site cost $0.95 on Zyte's $100 commitment, $0.11 with a FourA browser profile at $99. As of 17 September 2026.

What do 1,000 requests cost on Zyte and FourA?

$0.95 against $0.11. That's what 1,000 HTTP requests to a site in Zyte's top tier cost on the Zyte API's $100 monthly commitment, and on FourA's $99 Startup plan with a browser profile on, from both pricing pages as of 17 September 2026. If you're weighing Zyte pricing against FourA for sites that fight back, the tier your target lands in is where the money goes.

What FourA charges per request

FourA prices a request by what it is, not by the site it goes to. Single is 1 credit, or 2 with a browser profile. Browser is 5 credits, or 10 for an interactive page. That credit table is the same for every URL, and every response carries an X-FourA-Credits header with what the call spent.

Startup is $99 a month for 1,800,000 credits, as of 17 September 2026 on foura.ai/prices. So 1,000 plain HTTP requests come to $0.055, and $0.11 with a browser profile. A thousand browser renders cost $0.275, or $0.55 if every one had to clear a check. And only a success is billed: a 200 carrying a check page we recognise isn't one.

What Zyte charges for the same 1,000

Zyte's pricing page sorts websites into five tiers for HTTP requests and five for browser requests, with "datacenter, residential, rendering and more included" in the tier price. On the $100 commitment, 1,000 HTTP responses cost $0.10 at tier 1 and $0.95 at tier 5, and browser renders run from $0.75 to $12.00. Its pricing docs say a new site starts on a temporary tier and assignments are reviewed quarterly, with two weeks' notice.

We looked up twelve well-known sites in Zyte's calculator on 17 September 2026. Five landed in HTTP tier 5 (glassdoor.com, crunchbase.com, leboncoin.fr, hermes.com, stackoverflow.com). Across all twelve, the top browser tier was 3 (hermes.com and indeed.com).

Per 1,000 FourA Zyte
HTTP, plain $0.055 $0.10 (tier 1)
HTTP, hard site $0.11 (browser profile) $0.95 (tier 5)
Browser, plain $0.275 $0.75 (tier 1)
Browser, hard site $0.55 (check solved) $3.00 (tier 3)

Why FourA comes out ahead here

At about $100 a month, FourA costs less on every row, and the gap grows as sites get harder: 1.8 times on a tier 1 HTTP site, 8.6 times on a tier 5 one. A FourA browser request on an interactive page ($0.55) still comes in under Zyte's tier 1 browser price ($0.75). And our credit cost doesn't depend on which site you call, so a new target costs what the last one did.

Zyte deserves credit for how much it folds into one number. The tier price already covers the proxy type and rendering Zyte picks for a site, bans and rate-limit responses aren't charged, and its calculator shows a domain's tier without an account (that's how we got the figures above). Pay as you go gets the same 3,000 requests a minute as a commitment.

Run the same request on FourA

List your ten busiest domains with last month's request count for each. Look each one up in Zyte's calculator, multiply the count by its tier price, and set that total beside the credits the same count uses on FourA. Tiers 3 to 5 are where the totals split.

Frequently asked

Does Zyte get cheaper at a higher commitment? Yes. At $500 a month its HTTP tiers run from $0.06 to $0.61 per 1,000, and browser tier 1 is $0.48. FourA's Business plan, $249 a month for 9,000,000 credits, puts the four rows above at $0.028, $0.055, $0.14 and $0.28, for half that monthly spend.

What does a 404 cost? Zyte's error docs treat a 404 that isn't a ban as a successful response, and successful responses are billed. On FourA a 404 isn't a success unless your own validate rule accepts it (how that works), so by default it's free.

How many browser requests does Startup allow? 5,000 a day, about 150,000 a month. On Zyte, $100 buys 133,333 tier 1 renders.
